Gold and Silver Bullion Dealer in Dallas
Bullion is the part of the coin trade that runs on metal: Gold and Silver Eagles, Maple Leafs, Buffalos, bars and rounds. Whether you want to sell or ask what Chris has available, every figure ties back to the live spot price on the day you meet.
By appointment with Chris, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
How bullion is priced
Bullion trades on weight, purity and the live spot price at the moment of your visit. Chris checks the metal with the XRF reader, weighs each piece on the inspected scale and shows you the spot figure he is working from. Government coins can carry a premium over plain bars and rounds, and he will explain where yours fall.
One American Silver Eagle at today’s spot price
31.1035 grams × 99.9% silver = 0.9990 troy oz × spot $59.08 = $59.02 in metal
Melt value only. Collector value, when a coin has it, is priced separately and shown to you at the table.
What moves a bullion offer
- The spot price, which changes through the day and sets the starting point.
- The product, since Eagles, Buffalos and Maple Leafs usually see more demand than generic rounds.
- Purity, confirmed by the XRF reader rather than taken from the stamp.
- Packaging, because sealed assay cards, Mint tubes and monster boxes make metal easier to resell.
- Heavy scratches, dents or signs of tampering on bars.

Bullion in Dallas
Plenty of Dallas savers bought bullion over the years and kept it close. Some put Gold Eagles in a safe deposit box at a bank branch on Hillcrest Road. Others stacked silver rounds in a gun safe in a Carrollton garage. When it is time to sell, most of them want the same thing: a fair figure tied to spot and a buyer who shows the math.
The coins Chris sees most are American Gold Eagles, American Silver Eagles, Gold Buffalos and Canadian Maple Leafs. The Gold Eagle is 22K, and the one ounce size weighs 33.93 grams. The Buffalo and the gold Maple Leaf are 24K. The Silver Eagle holds one troy ounce of .999 silver. Bars and rounds from private mints fill out most stacks.
A premium is the gap between spot and what a piece sells for. Government coins tend to carry a bit more than generic rounds, and small bars carry more per ounce than large ones. When you sell, some of that premium comes back to you and some does not, depending on the product. Chris will tell you plainly which is which.
Bars sealed in an assay card should stay sealed. The card shows the weight, purity and serial number, and opening it can lower what the next buyer will pay. Keep Mint tubes and boxes too, even the plain ones.
If you want to buy, just ask. Chris can tell you what certified coins and bullion he has available and give honest advice about premiums and what tends to resell well, with no push to buy anything. Pricing is set at the visit, against the spot price at that moment.
Appointments run Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Larger holdings in Dallas County can be handled with a home visit, and wires are available for big sales. Sellers come from Irving near Las Colinas, from Carrollton and from north Dallas along the Dallas North Tollway. Bring photo ID, which Texas law requires Chris to record.

Common questions
How do you set the price for my bullion?
Chris checks weight and purity in front of you and ties the offer to the live spot price at the time of your visit. You see the spot figure and the math.
Do you buy bars from private mints?
Yes. Bars and rounds from private refiners are tested and weighed like any other bullion and priced on their metal.
Should I open my assay cards?
No. A sealed card tells the next buyer the bar has not been handled, so leave it intact.
Can I buy bullion from you?
You can ask. Chris will tell you what he has available and give you an honest take, with pricing set at the time of sale against live spot.
Is a Gold Eagle pure gold?
No. It is 22K, about 91.67% gold, with alloy added to make it tougher. The one ounce size still contains a full troy ounce of gold.
How will I be paid for a large bullion sale?
Larger sales can be paid by wire. Smaller ones are paid by cash or check before you leave.
