How Chris works
Most coin selling happens across a busy counter. You slide a bag over, someone weighs it, and a number comes back. Chris works the other way around.
You book a time, sit down with him, and watch every coin get looked at. He reads the date, the mint mark and the condition first, because that is where collector value hides. Gold and silver get checked with an XRF reader that shows the metal content on screen, with no acid, and weighed on a scale inspected by the Texas Department of Agriculture.
Then he explains what he found in plain English: which coins trade on their silver or gold, which ones collectors pay more for, and why. You get a written offer. Take it and you are paid the same visit by cash or check, or by wire for larger sales. Pass, and you leave with every coin and the written list.
For families settling an estate, Chris visits homes across Dallas County and writes item-by-item appraisals for probate, insurance and dividing a collection among heirs.
He also sells. If you collect, ask him what certified coins and bullion he has available. He will tell you honestly when something is not a good buy.
